字母氧化物

O4 Lab是一家创新型设计工作室,希望借助新鲜的设计观点和设计语言,与客户、观众、消费者、环境发生强烈的化学反应。在化学界,四聚氧(O4)是一种氧化能力极强的化学物质,可与绝大多数物质甚至部分稀有气体直接反应。我们尝试让氧气与每一个英文字母和数字发生化学反应,生成像中学化学里的分子式一样的字母,再把他们应用在海报当中。氧气与字母发生化学反应时遵循以下结合规律:字母有几个端点,代表他的化学价是几。由于氧气是-2价,所以对于字母「E」(有三个端点,也就是+3价),结合出来的氧化物字母就是E2O3,以此类推,就得到了全部被氧化后的字母和数字。

O4 Lab is an innovative design studio that aims to create strong chemical reactions with clients, audiences, consumers, and the environment through fresh design perspectives and design language. In the world of chemistry, tetraoxygen (O4) is a highly oxidative substance capable of directly reacting with most materials, including some rare gases. We strive to make oxygen react with each English letter and number, resulting in letters resembling molecular formulas from high school chemistry, which we then apply to our posters. The bonding pattern that oxygen follows when reacting with letters is determined by the number of handles a letter has, representing its valence. Since oxygen has a valence of -2, for example, for the letter E (which has three handles, i.e., a +3 valence), the resulting oxidized letter would be E2O3, and so forth, yielding all the oxidized letters and numbers.
